The role of WINE in Linux desktop enterprise migration strategies

A good paper on migrating to linux on the desktop using Wine where it is needed…

With the increasing interest in the value that #Linux can bring to the enterprise, companies need to assess likely migration strategies. Technologies that allow the reuse of Windows applications, and Wine in particular, are a key component to such migrations. This whitepaper examines the requirements for enterprise migration on the desktop. It examines a full range of available tactics, including Wine, and then suggests strategies for making the journey in ways that are pragmatic, economical, and customer focused. Toshiba preps minute-charge ‘miracle’ battery

Toshiba has developed a Lithium-Ion battery capable of being charged to 80 per cent of its full capacity in under 60 seconds. Filling it up takes just "a few more minutes", the company boasted today. That’s considerably faster than today’s Li-ion rechargeables which can take 1-4 hours to reach 80 per cent capacity, and even longer to fill completely. more here

FreeMind – free mind mapping software

The version 8.0rc2 is available here
FreeMind is a premier free mind-mapping software written in #Java. The recent development has hopefully turned it into high productivity tool. We are proud that the operation and navigation of FreeMind is faster than that of MindManager because of one-click "fold / unfold" and "follow link" operations.

Minerals collection was’nt online!

I realize today after 9 months…that my collections of minerals was not online…It has not been migrated to the new system.  I want to make a picture of each of my 1200 minerals and that will take time…I’ve start this project of putting everything online in 2003, but I was limited by disk space at that time (only 100Mb). This will be a long task since I can only work on it during the week end. Anyway I already present into the "collectibles" sections some of them…

I have some major issues trying to complete this document: http://waltercedric.com/Mambo/Java/Security/Typical-issues-with-webapplications-v1.5-4.html
Mambo do not let me add new text in the content of this article.  that is why I now propose it as a PDF download (this PDF contains much more example of we applications security issues than the html version). Enjoy.
